The School of International Education is a secondary college established by Taihu University of Wuxi to meet the needs of internationalization of China’s education. After continuous construction, the school currently owns a faculty with rich teaching experience and strong research capacities. Over 80% staff of the college has oversea study experience.

In response to the call made by Taihu University of Wuxi, the School of International Education makes positive efforts to accelerate education internationalization by introducing premium international education resources. It has established exchange and cooperation projects in various forms with oversea prestigious schools, including California Baptist University, Dallas Baptist University, Anglia Ruskin University, The University of Western Australia and Ara Institute of Canterbury. The school has introduced programs of internationally accepted vocational qualification certificates such as CFA and ACCA. It depends on the academic advantages and faculty strengths of cooperative universities to cultivate talents with international competitiveness who are in short supply. Meanwhile, it is committed to the programs of combined bachelor’s and master’s degrees in order to provide safe, reliable and convenient passage for students to pursue further study abroad. 

Since the students who have intention to study abroad account for a large part of the students in the School of International Education with high English language requirements for their majors, the school especially emphasizes the cultivation of language abilities of the students and especially builds up an experienced foreign teacher team to help students with successful oversea study. The School of International Education also undertakes a portion of English teaching tasks of Taihu University of Wuxi, making its own contributions to the development of the bilingual education of the university.

The School of International Education pays attention to students’ spiritual and cultural lives and carries out various activities including the English corner and academic lectures, attracting active participation by students. In 2016, it co-hosted the New Year Concert with California Baptist University and invited a famous musical singer from Broadway for performance. The grand event of cultural exchange between countries won unanimous acclaims from the inside and outside of the school. The school has also invited over 40 world renowned experts to give lectures on the campus and pay a visit to the campus including Rich Roberts, a Nobel Prize Winner. Meanwhile several teachers have been and sent abroad for exchanging communication.
